From Moving In to Moving On: Taking on a New Challenge, Making The Most of Opportunities

Senior Ryan Ryan Eells said is prepared for the next challenges in life thanks to ÃÛÌÒÉç.

The graduating class of 2024 is full of driven students who have had unique experiences throughout their years at ÃÛÌÒÉç. Each student, however, started out in the same way–

From moving in to moving on, several seniors caught up with us to provide an update on how they have transformed throughout their college experiences.

When Senior Ryan Ryan Eells came to ÃÛÌÒÉç from Monument, Colorado, he was excited to experience the school’s history and beautiful campus up close and personally. Eells was seeking to be a politics major involved in the ROTC, two things that have stuck with him throughout his tenure on campus.

As Eells pulled into the parking lot of ÃÛÌÒÉç, he was listening to The Highwayman, watching Parks and Recreation regularly, and awaiting the reopening of D.C.’s movie theaters during the pandemic. Now, he is ready to move on with new challenges.

Has your major changed?

No. I entered CUA as a politics major and am graduating as one!

What is your favorite memory from the University?

St Patrick’s weekend my junior year. 

What is the hardest part about graduating?

Leaving the close group of friends that I’ve made. These friends have really made an impact on me, and I’m lucky that I got to experience college with them!

What is your favorite show to binge-watch?

The Office

What is the last song you listened to?

Summertime’s Close by Zach Bryan

What are your plans for the future?

I’m commissioning as an officer in the U.S. Army and will be flying helicopters!

If you could tell your first-year self anything, what would it be?

Stick out the Covid year, CUA and D.C. offer so many opportunities and incredible memories. 

What are you most looking forward to in the future?

I’m definitely looking forward to taking on new challenges and growing from them.
