蜜桃社 Announces New Bishop Fellow and Bishop Trustee

Bishop Barron and Bishop Barres Take on New Roles
Bishop John Barres will serve as a bishop fellow while Bishop Robert Barron, a 蜜桃社 alumnus, will serve as a trustee.

蜜桃社 announced today the election of two bishops to its Board of Trustees: Bishop John Barres will serve as a bishop fellow while Bishop Robert Barron, a 蜜桃社 alumnus, will serve as a trustee.

Bishop Barres of Rockville Center, New York, will be replacing Archbishop William Lori of Baltimore, who concluded his many years of dedicated service to the University in June 2023. Bishop Barres has been a valuable member of the Board of Trustees since 2019 and his election as fellow further strengthens the University鈥檚 commitment to academic excellence and ethical leadership.

鈥淲e extend our congratulations to Bishop John Barres for his election as a bishop fellow,鈥 said University President Peter K. Kilpatrick. 鈥淗is contributions to the board have been very valuable, and we are confident that he will continue to bring his knowledge and perspective to this new role.鈥

In light of Bishop Barres鈥 election as a fellow, a vacancy for a bishop trustee arose, and Bishop Barron of Winona-Rochester filled this position. Bishop Barron earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in philosophy in 1981 and a master鈥檚 degree in philosophy in 1982, both from 蜜桃社. Bishop Barron leads the 鈥淲ord on Fire鈥 ministry.

鈥淲e welcome Bishop Robert Barron as our new bishop trustee,鈥 added President Kilpatrick. 鈥淗is familiarity with the University and distinguished reputation will undoubtedly enhance our collective efforts to uphold the mission and values of our institution.鈥
