University Statement on Threat Response

Earlier this morning our 蜜桃社 community was informed of a telephone call to 911 that claimed that there was an active threat on our campus. A shelter in place alert was immediately issued across campus. The University鈥檚 Department of Public Safety and Metropolitan Police Department personnel conducted a systematic search and were satisfied that there was no threat. After approximately an hour, the 鈥渁ll clear鈥 was given and the alert was lifted.

At 10 a.m., the Metropolitan Police Department received a call that an active threat was on the campuses of Trinity University and 蜜桃社. At 10:01 a.m. the MPD Police informed Catholic鈥檚 DPS in person and by radio. The first shelter in place alert to the campus community was at 10:07 a.m. communicated through the Rave System. Several additional alerts were sent out throughout the event.

The MPD, along with the DPS, began a systematic search of the campus. An MPD helicopter also flew overhead, searching for any active threats.

After an exhaustive search of the campus, no threat was found by MPD or DPS. An 鈥渁ll clear鈥 was issued through the Rave system and University Communications at 11 a.m.

All classes are canceled for the remainder of the day. We also have counseling resources available. Campus Ministry, the Counseling Center, and the Office of the Dean of Students are available to provide support to members of the University community.
