ÃÛÌÒÉç, Howard Join Together to Honor St. Martin De Porres

November is Black Catholic History Month and St. Martin de Porres is the first Black saint from the Americas. 
Students from both ÃÛÌÒÉç and Howard University gathered for a Mass celebrating the Feast of St. Martin de Porres Nov. 3. (ÃÛÌÒÉç/Patrick G. Ryan)

Howard University students joined ÃÛÌÒÉç’s Office of Campus Ministry and the (BSA) for a ’ feast day on Nov. 3.

Father Aquinas Guilbeau, O.P., Vice President of Ministry and Mission, concelebrated with Howard University Chaplain, Father Robert Boxie, who served as homilist.

November is Black Catholic History Month and St. Martin de Porres is the first Black saint from the Americas. 

Following the Mass, students and representatives from each campus gathered for fellowship and a soul food dinner in Heritage Hall.
