March is women鈥檚 history month and to celebrate the amazing women who make 蜜桃社 what it is, the Office of Campus Activities plans to honor them with awards.
MacKenzie Garrity, Assistant Director of the Office of Campus Activities, has received over 100 submissions from campus community members wanting to highlight women who have impacted them.
In planning this month, Garrity said, 鈥Being able to put this together with the help of my student staff, to let the women around us every day know that they are making the lives around them brighter, means more than the world. I love that I can assist in brightening the days of the women at CatholicU with something so thoughtful and meaningful.鈥
Student awards will be distributed via mail, while staff awards will be given out in person by a Campus Activities student staff member.
The Office of Campus Activities annually sends out forms to students, faculty, and staff so they can submit names for honor and recognition in March.
The month-long celebration will culminate with a brunch for all those recognized, with those who nominated them, on March 26 in the third-floor Pryzbyla Center Atrium.
Garrity recommends appreciating and honoring beloved women 鈥渁ny time of the day at any time of the year. It is as simple as letting them know in passing, sending a random text, staying after class to thank them, and so on.
